MONARTO PONY CLUB CAMP

October 9th - 14th 2016 ALREADY FULL

GENERAL INFORMATION

The camp will be held at the Monarto Equestrian Centre.

COST:              FULL FEE $300.00. DISCOUNT of $60 applicable to parents who have attended camp working bee on Saturday 8th October 2016

An additional 8 hours must be worked for each additional

child.

LIMIT:               65 Riders – Accepted in order of receipt of entry form on Nominate

APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED WITH $50 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT BY THE CLOSING DATE – MONDAY 12th September 2016.

July 1st 2016 is the opening date for entries, any received prior to this will be treated as having arrived on August 1st 2016.

Applications will be accepted from riders from all PCASA clubs, on a first come basis. Individual or family entries only, group entries will be returned. No applications will be accepted without deposit.

A maximum of 65 riders will be accepted due to dormitory capacity limitations. Riders must be financial members of Pony Club and qualified to ride the horse nominated. New combinations will not be allowed to attend. Camp is not the place to try out a new horse. All applications will be received on a first come basis.

Each club sending riders must supply at least one helper. Please ensure that you nominate your helper on the application form.

All riders wishing to attend camp must be capable of riding in a group in open spaces and be capable of basic horse care such as saddling and grooming. Club Chief Instructors must sign all camp applications supporting this.

NO LED RIDERS ARE PERMITTED.

CHILDREN ACCOMPANYING PERSONS ASSISTING IN THE KITCHEN WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE KITCHEN AS A SAFETY MEASURE. PLEASE ARRANGE SUPERVISION OF THESE CHILDREN.

Riders on special diets (including vegetarian) must advise us in advance - please highlight on application form. Riders with allergies or requiring medication must make camp organizers aware of special requirements.

Individual meals will be available to visitors at the following prices: Breakfast-$5.00 Lunch - $7.00, Dinner - $10.00.

If intending to stay for a meal please confirm with camp matron 2 hours before the meal. Adults helping in the kitchen for a full day do not pay for meals.

A canteen will operate for a short period during the week. Canteen money to be in COINS only, as change is not guaranteed. As a canteen is available, no food stuffs whatsoever may be stored in the dormitories as they attract MICE. Riders are requested not to bring sweets, drinks etc. into camp in great quantities.

CAMP REQUIREMENTS

ALL EQUIPMENT MUST BE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH RIDER'S SURNAME

Personal Requirements:

  1. Clothing for 6 days
  2. Pony Club uniform (essential)
  3. Riding hat approved to Australian Standards ASNZS3838, EN1384 & ASTMF1163
  4. Pillow, Blankets (plenty) or sleeping bag
  5. Rubber boots (No thongs)
  6. Plate, cup, bowl, knife, fork, spoon, in a CLOTH bag - NO paper plates
  7. Torch with new batteries
  8. Toiletry requisites
  9. Rain coat (essential)
  10. Lip balm and sun block
  11. A favourite photo of your horse for a fun activity

Horse Requirements:

  1. Good halter and lead rope.
  2. Waterproof horse rug
  3. Good riding equipment in general. Please note that Pony Club rules regarding equipment will be adhered to.
  4. Two 20 litre (5 gallon) buckets with handles - one suitable to feed from. Larger horses may need an extra water bucket.
  5. Grooming gear.
  6. Each rider to supply a rake and shovel. Riders should get together and bring a wheelbarrow for every 3 riders in camp.
  7. All horses in camp should be well shod and hoof oil is essential.
  8. Tack cleaning equipment. Any tack repairs made during camp will be charged to parents.

ALL EQUIPMENT TO BE IDENTIFIED CLEARLY WITH OWNER'S NAME

(25mm or 1" lettering).

Horse feed supplied by the zone will consist of lucerne hay and chaff. Any extras required must be supplied by the rider.

All parents of riders are asked to donate a 2 litre bottle of cordial and a cake. Cordial to be orange or lemon only.

TELEPHONE MESSAGES: If parents wish to telephone their child, it is suggested that they leave a message, as Monarto is a large property and it may be difficult for kitchen staff to locate a child at short notice. Use of the telephone for external calls is for emergencies only.

SMOKING: No smoking by riders under age 18 whatsoever. Riders over age 18 may only smoke in allocated areas.

ALCOHOL: Any rider found in the possession of alcohol will be sent home.

PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES: Any rider found in the possession of prohibited substances will be sent home. Police action will be taken.

MISCONDUCT: Any behaviour deemed unsuitable for Camp will result in the dismissal of rider/s.

The camp committee reserves the right to ballot or reject any entries. Reasons may or may not be given.
